Director of Surgical Services - $5,000 sign on bonus
Interwest Search is seeking a Director of Surgical Services for our client hospital located in the Woodland Hills area. Position offers pay up to $140K, plus bonus eligibility and relocation reimbursement. In addition, Interwest Search will provide the selected candidate a $5,000 sign on bonus (paid at completion of 3 months of service).
The Nurse Director is a registered professional nurse who participates as an active administrative member of the Nursing Management Team. The Nurse Director assumes 24-hour responsibility in directing and coordinating safe, efficient, and therapeutically effective nursing care for patients on the assigned unit/department. Principle responsibilities include strategic planning, service delivery, program development, evaluation and implementation, budget and resource management, cost control, contract compliance and quality improvement. The Nurse Director maintains current competency with nursing skills required for the assigned unit/department, and demonstrates knowledge regarding Standards of Care and Standards of Practice in the assigned area. He/She demonstrates knowledge of principles of growth & development over life span, and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of patient status, and to interpret the data appropriately to identify patient requirements specific to the patient's age. The Nurse Director remains calm in crisis and emergency situations, and directs staff members effectively and appropriately. The Nurse Director maintains professional and effective working relationships with all members of the Health Care Team.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
BSN
MSN preferred
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a leadership role in an acute care hospital
Minimum of five (5) years Surgery/OR experience
Demonstrated experience in leadership/management and establishing interpersonal relationships necessary to promote an effective working environment
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE:
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of CA
BLS
ACLS
NRP
PALS as appropriate for areaEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
