Guided by our core values of Authentic, Creative, Fun, Resilient, Smile Makers, and Together, we were named to Los Angeles Business Journal's 2022 Best Places to Work About The Role As Director of Fleet, you will be responsible for owning the strategic planning and execution of all facets of the Barkbus fleet.
This includes acquisition, deployment, maintenance, compliance, safety, optimization and more.
In this role, you will develop and execute strategies that enhance profitability, improve efficiency, increase customer satisfaction and boost safety.
To start, you will oversee a fleet of 45
vehicles that will double and triple in the coming years.
The majority of the Barkbus fleet today is spread across Southern California, however this role will oversee all vehicles in expansion cities and states as well.
This role will report directly to the CEO.
Responsibilities:
Your primary responsibility will be to maximize fleet performance and profitability while implementing processes and procedures that work at scale Develop a robust fleet plan that outlines and organizes preventative, predictive and reactive maintenance programs to ensure minimal downtime of vehicles Review and refine current vehicle acquisition practices and offer recommendations on the most cost effective strategies to grow a fleet including financing, shipping and transport and vehicle pipeline forecast Create operating efficiencies on fuel consumption & costs, mileage & maintenance, asset utilization, parking and the implementation of any programs that increase company productivity and reduce waste Oversee any accident insurance claims and repairs, working with the insurance adjusters through the settlement process as needed Develop fleet rotation/defleet program to cycle out aging assets as a profit driver for the company Create partnerships with 3rd party vendors to allow for vehicle upkeep across the company at scale Oversee compliance and ensure all licensing and governmental needs such as registration are met Oversee parking & water operations across each location to ensure cost effective approach and develop business continuity plans as needed Streamline acquisition of all vehicle related supplies to reduce operational costs Source and vendor manage key partners such as interior & exterior cleaning and towel services Plan and prepare an annual budget and analyze all financial objectives related to the fleet Develop, maintain and update all SOP's and written programs pertaining to fleet and assets Work on additional strategic projects as they are arise Who you are:

Required
Qualifications:
Must be a lover of dogs and vehicles! Minimum 8 years of relevant operations experience with at least 4 years overseeing fleets of 25
vehicles Familiarity and working knowledge of vehicle maintenance, collision repair, systems, & components Strong working knowledge of diesel engines and Mercedes Sprinter vans strongly preferred Project management experience with extreme attention to detail is strongly preferred.
Excellent time management and problem-solving skills to meet deadlines Ability to adapt to the needs of a changing and growing organization Mobile service related experience is a plus Compensation &

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
